Fun with aeronautics

December has come to an end. If you had been to the Defence Science Exhibition at the Science Centre Singapore recently, you would likely have noticed some science education workshops which were being conducted in conjunction with this exhibition.

Last week, I dropped by one of the 2-hour workshops on Aeronautical Sciences and found the student participants fully engaged with the workshop activities, where they learnt the basic theory of flight, make foam gliders rubber kinetic helicopter and learn various techniques in folding paper aeroplanes to facilitate better flight. While it seems like play (especially while they were doing a flight simulation), the participants gained knowledge about flight at the same time.

Check out some of the photos here.

After the school holidays, the science education workshops will continue to be be available. Keep a lookout for these workshops on our events calendar or enquire through flightscience.club@gmail.com. Advance booking can be made through flightscience.club@gmail.com or register at the Annexe Foyer.

Meanwhile, enjoy the last day of this year. Happy New Year in advance!
