Re-imagining Jurong – That’s the title of Minister Khaw Boon Wan’s blogpost explaining Jurong’s transformation since Singapore’s industrialisation days and the impending transformation described by PM Lee during the National Day Rally on 17 August. Of particular interest to us at Science Centre Singapore (SCS) would be the announcement about the new Science Centre being the jewel of the new Jurong development and how it would be integrated with the new Jurong Lake Gardens at its new location next to Chinese Garden MRT station.
Minister Heng Swee Keat also posted a Facebook post today to share his excitement about the new SCS, and how SCS is a good place where generations of Singaporeans have been able to imagine, experience, discover and dream, that it has played, and will continue to play, the important role of nurturing our spirit of inquiry, exploration and discovery. It is something exciting to look forward to, and he has called for views and ideas in his post too!
As PM Lee has announced, the new SCS is slated to be ready by 2020, and that is six years away from now. So, what does Science Centre mean to you? How do you envisage the new SCS to be?
