Hands up for superheroes!

At the front entrance of Science Centre Singapore recently is a colourful Young Learners’ Festival (YLF) banner decorated with these cute cartoon characters.

They caught my attention the day the banner was put up – a perfect backdrop for phototaking (for children). I mean, I would love to pose beside one of them (if I were of the same height)!

Anyway, this year’s Young Learners’ Festival has an awesome theme – “Sense-sations!”. If you haven’t notice, the characters are Mr Tongue (top), Mr Nose (Top left), Ms Hand (Top right), Ms Ear (Bottom left) and Mr Eye (Bottom right).

Don’t they look like superheroes? 😛

I managed to check out one of the shows last Tuesday and the students had so much fun watching and participating in the Science show put up by our Science Educators (Gurpreet and Edna). Besides the show, there are also plenty of activity stations. You can listen to the sound of “waves” made by your own DIY wavetube, and explore your senses at outdoor activities at the Ecogarden too!

Below is a sneak peak of what you can see and take part at the Young Learner’s Festival which will be opened to public on these dates: 3 Oct 2014 (1.30pm-5pm) & 4-5 Oct 2014 (10am-5pm). You can also read more about it here.
