With the haze running riot, it’s quite difficult to sing “I can see clearly now”.
Chances are you’ll likely run out of breath if you tried!
At least, like the Brits, we now have a great conversation starter in the weather.
The NEA’s haze reports are dismal. The update this morning (24 Sep) states that the air quality over the next 24 hours is “expected to be in the high end of the Unhealthy range [PSI 101-200] and the low end of the Very Unhealthy range” (PSI 201-300). It could get even worse if denser haze from Sumatra continues to blow in!
Watch your haze exposure. Consider these tips as part of your survival kit.
- Stay indoors keeping your windows closed.
- Use an air purifier and air conditioning.
- Wear a mask if you head outdoors.
- Drink lots of water.
Watch our blog space as I’ll soon post a two-part interview with the SIIA (Singapore Institute of International Affairs) about their views on the haze. The SIIA recently held an exhibition ‘Haze: Know It. Stop It.’ at the Science Centre Singapore from 5-7 September 2015.
Wishing all Muslims, Selamat Hari Raya Haji! Enjoy the festivities and this music video produced by Mr Brown – who made a haze-themed parody of the song – I got a Feeling by Black Eyed Peas!
