ScienceArts @ Science Centre Singapore

By Harry and Danny

This August, come on down to Science Centre and celebrate the PAssionArts Festival with us! Dubbed, “ScienceArts”, the Festival showcases the talent and hard work of residents who have created inspiring, interactive art installations.

Launch Celebration!

Be here on 5 Aug 2017, 5.30pm to 9.00pm for the launch of the “Science Art as One” exhibition (at Annexe Hall till 25 Aug) in conjunction with Yuhua PAssionArts Village (Atrium).

Enjoy activities like painting a dim sum basket as well as ukulele and guitar performances only at the Yuhua PAssionArts Village. Join Guest of honour, Minister Grace Fu, who joins us at the musical jamming session by 500 guitarists as well as 200 ukulele and cajon players!

Fusion multi-cultural performances and a mass community sing-along would also be on show so do lookout for them.

Some highlights for you include:

Dancing Stars

Learn how to make a A Hoberman sphere out of recycled materials that is capable of folding down to a fraction of its normal size by the scissor-like action of its joints.

Light Catcher

Create artistic light catchers with reflective papers to create beautiful patterns through different angle of the light source.

My Teepee Village

Weave and understand structural integrity based on geometric shapes and 3D lattices. Look out for this tepee made by residents of Bukit Batok.

Kaleidoscopic Singapore

Using gears and cam to create an interesting piece of art with motion and 3D effects. Take a closer look on how art come to live!

PAssionArts Festival is a collaboration between Science Centre Singapore, Community Arts & Culture Clubs (CACC) from Yuhua, Bukit Batok Divisions and Jurong GRC.
